Job Summary:
As a Financial Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of clients by nurturing existing relationships and actively pursuing new business opportunities. This role blends client retention with business development, requiring you to offer expert financial advice, create personalized financial plans, and deliver tailored solutions that align with clients’ financial goals. You will also drive the growth of the firm by networking, prospecting, and engaging in sales activities to attract new clients. This is an in-person position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, risk mitigation and wealth preservation strategies.
- Meet with clients to identify their financial needs and objectives.
- Develop customized financial plans that align with clients’ short-term and long-term financial objectives.
- Conduct thorough financial assessments and recommend investment strategies based on risk tolerance, market conditions, and financial goals.
- Monitor and review clients’ financial portfolios regularly.
- Stay informed on industry trends, financial regulations, and investment products to provide clients with the most up-to-date guidance.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including portfolio managers and tax professionals, to develop holistic financial strategies.
- Educate clients on new financial products, services, and strategies to help them make informed decisions.
- Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities while maintaining and strengthening existing client relationships.
- Contribute to business growth by identifying potential clients, effectively presenting our services, and converting leads into long-term, loyal client relationships.
- Network and build a client base through referrals, marketing, and outreach.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to contribute to the growth of the firm.
- Ensure all client interactions and financial plans comply with regulatory and firm standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or MBA degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; OR
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial planning, investment advisory, or wealth management or minimum 10 years of business experience in a non-related field.
- Preferred certifications: CFA, CFP®, RICP®, CLU®, CPWA® or progress toward obtaining these or a related designation.
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and risk management strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities and provide solutions that align with client needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Skilled in working with multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Proven ability to prospect, network, and close sales with clients.
- Ability to develop and maintain a pipeline of leads and clients.
- Experience working within an RIA or fee-based advisory firm is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Financial Modeling/Planning Software, CRM Platforms)
