Thomas Moran, AIF®, Chairman, CEO, and CIO of Moran Wealth Management®, has been named the #1 top-ranked independent financial advisor in the state of Florida and #9 in the U.S. on Barron’s list of Top 100 Independent Advisors for 2025.
This marks the fifth time in the last six years that Moran has ranked on this prestigious annual list, which showcases America’s top independent financial advisors as identified by Barron’s. The ranking reflects the volume of assets overseen by the advisors and their teams, revenues generated for the firms, and the quality of the advisors’ practices.
Earlier this year, Moran was recognized as the #2 ranked financial advisor in the state of Florida on Barron’s list of Top 1200 Advisors for 2025, earning placement on the list for the 17th consecutive year. He is also a member of the Barron’s Hall of Fame, a distinction given to advisors who have appeared on the Top 100 Advisors ranking for over 10 years.
“It is truly an honor to be named among Barron’s Top 100 Independent Advisors,” said Moran. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team and our steadfast focus on helping clients pursue their financial goals with care and excellence.”
In addition to the primary categories of assets, revenue, and quality of practice, the Top 100 Advisors ranking evaluates advisors using a wide range of qualitative factors, including their experience, industry designations, compliance records, charitable and philanthropic work, as well as the size, shape, and diversity of their teams.
“The rankings serve two distinct types of Barron’s readers,” Barron’s associate editor Matt Barthel said. “For wealth management professionals, they serve as an industry scorecard. For investors, the rankings are a tool that can help in the process of finding financial guidance.”
With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Moran has been recognized nationally for his industry experience, professional conduct, and business success. He has received numerous accolades from industry giants, including rankings on Forbes’ Best-In-State lists for Florida from 2020 to 2022 and recognition on the Top 250 Wealth Advisor List from 2016 to 2021. He was also listed by Financial Times among the Top 400 Advisors in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, which identifies those whom Financial Times considers to be the top financial advisors at broker-dealers across the U.S.
